Table 65) Lumen, Mail Road, Vice Versa Wines

Lumen Wines are the brainchild of Will Henry and Lane Tanner. Will comes from a wine family, cutting his teeth in distribution and opening Lumen in 2012 with Lane Tanner. Lane has been making wine in Santa Barbara since 1981, in fact she was the 1st woman to own a winery in Santa Barbara. These are wines of elegance and grace.

Mail Road (Mt. Carmel Vineyard) consists of six blocks over a total of 22.5 acres, planted to a variety of own-rooted, organically and principally dry-farmed, heritage chardonnay and pinot noir clones. The vineyard is heavily and uniquely influenced by its combination of elevation (800-1000 feet above sea level) and soil composition (loose, well-drained limestone, botella clay, diatomaceous earth, calcareous deposits and sandy loam).

Vice Versa Wine began with Paul Hobbs as our first winemaker in 2003 and in the last 10 years Philippe Melka has been making the wines. We pride ourselves in the best of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. We source from Beckstoffer To Kalon, Las Piedras, Georges III and Dr Crane. We also have our home estate in Calistoga and get grapes from the famous Ecotone vineyard on the base of Howell Mountain 1st planted by David Abreu in 1985 and used for his flagship wine called Thorevilos.
