The Girardin family has been working the land in Burgundy since 1570. Justin is the 13th generation winemaker who is in charge of every aspect in the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle. Justin works with a philosophy of bio-diversity in the vineyards, no additions to the wines and the use of native yeasts from each parcel. Justin’s goal in his winemaking is reflection and honesty, he aims for extractive purity and full palate coverage without the influence of wood. Drawing on the intimate knowledge of family vineyards from seven centuries and an inexhaustible drive to create wines with the optimal expression of their terroirs is what makes the wines of Justin Girardin what they are today.
